Acupuncture is one of the modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has been practiced for at least 2,000 years, and some sources say as many as 5,000 years. In modern times it is used as a non-invasive way to treat many conditions, including: back pain, joint pain, headache or migraine, common cold or flu, Bell's palsy, infertility (female and male), depression, anxiety, hemorrhoids, dizziness, symptoms of menopause, sinus infections, and many more. Brighton enjoys working with fertility, women's health, chronic and autoimmune illness, and much more.
When you arrive for your treatment, make sure you have eaten and are not hungry. In order to make a TCM diagnosis, Brighton will feel your pulse on both wrists and look at your tongue. Acupuncture points may be chosen in the local area of pain, or distally. For internal conditions, acupuncture points may be chosen on the abdomen, hands, feet, legs, arms, back, or scalp.
